My View:
What Comes After is a hauntingly beautiful love story of loss, letting go of the past, and learning to love again. Melissa Toppen hit all of the soft spots in this beautifully written story.
Abel is stricken by grief. It's been years and yet, he hasn't come to terms with his loss or how to live after. Peyton is full of life, love, and understanding. When these two souls find each other, it's kismet. And yet the memory of one stands in their way. Abel has to learn that there is room enough in his world for 2 loves.
Strong, deep characters; Toppen certainly knows how to squeak a tear from this reader - which is super super hard to do. I have been a fan of hers for a long time, and yet, she still surprises me with every book. <3 <3
